Speak Up - I can’t Hear You!
One thing all successful bloggers have in common is their unique voice. What this means is they have managed to inject their own personality into their blog without rehashing other people’s work.
Naturally, if we look at blogging topics there is hardly anything that hasn’t been covered yet in one form or another. Unless of course it is new and hasn’t been invented yet.
So the art of being a notable blogger is to stand apart by your own voice. Because that’s all you got.
If you think for one second that experience is relevant here, then think again. Relative newcomers have taken the blogging world by storm without having any experience whatsoever. They managed to gain a huge subscriber base within a couple of month and readers hang onto their every word.
Wouldn’t you want to be one of them?
Guess what - you can!
To do this you need to be yourself. And you know what, not everybody will like you, but that is fine! We can never please all the humans on earth no matter how hard we try.
To have others take note of you you have to be different from the pack!
A few examples:
- Do something really stupid
- Be very controversial
- Disagree with a famous blogger when everybody else agrees
- Be outrageous
- Do something unexpected. I just did an interview with Santa Claus today on my blog and it was great fun. It might be a huge flop, but it doesn’t matter since I dared. Do you dare?
Either of these methods are great link bait and will get you tons of comments on your blog. Just be warned that some won’t be that nice.
As a writer and pro-blogger I have to go with my ideas to keep the creative juice flowing. If I try too hard, nothing happens and my mind goes totally blank. So sometimes I have to test certain avenues. It helps me to grow and learn from it.
If those ideas flop, then so be it, I take it with a grain of salt and move on. To reminisce about it would be like stabbing yourself in the back. - Don’t!
Move on, we all make mistakes - it’s ok to make them!
But don’t involve yourself with the negative people, let them drool in their own misery. Remember, you are the one with it all. You stand apart from the crowd and you are certainly not afraid to speak up!
Or are you?
Please tell me, I’d like to know.
Thank you
Monika

Can you hear me, Monika? You got it nailed down nicely about being unique in your own way - rude, outrageous, flamboyant, funny or whatever. Of course, there are these types around but it’s those who are always suckering (is that a word?) to their so-called idols as if they can do no wrong, that’s what gets my goat. And thanks for the tag in your other post.
Hey Markk,
Yep, I heard you loud and clear and you are welcome.
It is refreshing to see that there are the others, “non suckering” like us who have their own opinion and are not afraid of speaking up.
Keep it coming.
