  • Contribute to Easy Wordpress And Get A Link Back

    January 3, 2008 | By Gobala Krishnan |

    ewp-linkback

After some consideration on actually doing this, I’ve finally decided to open up the Easy Wordpress Blog to contributors. As a contributor, you can get a link back to your blog at the top of every post you write that is approved by our editor, Monika or me.

There are no minimum post requirements for contributors - you can write one post or 10 a month it’s really up to you.

However, I have requirements as to the type of contributors we’re looking for:

    1. You must have a strong interest / passion for blogging / Wordpress related topics
    2. You must have a good command of English and must proofread your own posts first
    3. You must be able to write in a way that it’s easy for “blogging newbies” to understand - our readers aren’t expert programmers so don’t get too technical on them :)

Here’s how you stand to benefit from contributing posts to our blog:

    1. You get a link back to your own blog, whatever blog you specify in your profile page
    2. You get more exposure for your name and your business
    3. You get to demonstrate your expertise in front of 11,000 ezine subscribers and 300+ RSS subscribers

Here are some simple guidelines to becoming the top contributor:

    1. Choose your sub topic, for example “Wordpress Plugins” or “Blog SEO” and focus on that area. General / vague “how to blog” articles are generally not preferred as this blog is more focused on the usage of Wordpress for blogging. The more you can related your article to Wordpress, the better.
    2. There’s never “too much content” the topics of (1) getting traffic (2) getting traffic (3) getting traffic. You can review a certain method / site / tool and explain how it works to get traffic to your blog.
    3. Always check if a similar post have been written before. If there’s something similar, build on that article or elaborate further, and link back to it for reference.
    4. To make sure your posts get accepted, please make sure your posts are at least 500 words long and present a complete article - don’t stuff your posts with useless filler words.
    5. Include images / media in your posts instead of just text. A picture speaks a thousand words
    6. Do not use affiliate links (unless it’s mine hehe..) and do not accept payment from others to blog / review their product on our blog. We don’t like that kind of stuff.
    7. Once you’ve written an article, click on “Submit for Review” to make sure your post gets into the publishing queue. If you don’t do this we don’t see if as a post ready to be published.
    8. Do not submit duplicate content. If you’ve written a post somewhere else, don’t copy and paste it as a new blog post here.

    So..

This is an excellent opportunity, however, since I am new to blogging, I might have to be a lurker for a while to see if I have something of value to contribute to the blogging community.

One blog I find really good for learning marketing and blogging is http://www.doshdosh.com/

I submitted mine and it’s been used - which is great!

But I’m a little disappointed that I couldn’t put a link back to my own site in it, I wasn’t too bothered at the time of writing (and made an effort to ensure I didn’t post it anywhere else either). But now it’s already been scraped from Easy Wordpress and used on someone else’s site, all be it with a link back to Easy Wordpress and not my self :(

Hey I never come across this post. I would certainly contact when I am interested to do a guest post as per the rules mentioned in the post.

By the way, if we can link back to any of our articles on the blog in profile, that would make sense even if people are scraping only the content and not the “written by” which is the case most of the time.

I just found an e-mail from mybloglog and I thought it was SPAM. Monika, do you have like an expectation of how many post per week etc?

@ LiC: that would be great to have you on board. Let us know when you are ready.

@ Kay: There are no expectations at all. You are free to blog how often or as little as you like. A good starting point might be one/two post(s)/week.
